Software for telephone modems implements following ITU standards:
• V.21 (300 bit/s, FM modulation, duplex transmission with frequency division)
• V.22/V.22bis (600/1200/2400 bit/s, QAM modulation, duplex transmission with frequency division)
• V.23 (1200/2400 bit/s, QAM modulation, simplex or duplex transmission (with duble-pair connection) )
• V.23 (600/1200 bit/s, FM modulation, simplex or duplex transmission (with duble-pair connection))
• V.29 (2.4/4.8/9.6 kbit/s, QAM modulation, simplex transmission)
• V.32/V.32bis (2.4/4.8/9.6/12.0/14.4 kbit/s, QAM modulation, duplex transmission with echo compensation)
• V.33 (2.4/4.8/9.6/12.0/14.4 kbit/s, QAM modulation, simplex or duplex transmission (with duble-pair connection) )
Software for telephone modems is implemented on DSP processors form Texas Instruments (TMS320VC33 family).
One processor can handle up to three simultaneous connection in V.32bis mode. In other modes, number of simultaneous connection might be higher.
Example application
AWP-IŁ Tester
In
PM probes
,
one TMS320VC33 processor handles four phone lines simultaneously.
In addition to that, processor also executes measuring functions and
algorithms of call establishment (PSTN/ISDN).

consist of 30 telephony modems, connected to ISDN network by PRA interface (E1, 2Mbi/s). Modem functions have been implemented using TMS320VC33 signal processors which are connected directly to E1 framer. Microcomputer (based on ARM7) handles ISDN protocols and communication with Test Center (via TCP/IP).
